About the role
The post is primarily dedicated to supporting the efficient operation of the councils’ decision-making processes and providing administrative support to the Democratic Services team.
Essential criteria for the role
- Experience of providing high quality administrative services
- Use of MS Word, MS Teams, Excel and MS Outlook and ability to learn and use bespoke IT systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Good customer care skills, acting as first point of contact and filtering enquiries which come into the team
Key responsibilities for the role
- Provision of administrative support to the Democratic Services team to ensure that the team can provide a high quality service
- To manage the team inbox and provide information or advice on basic queries relating to democratic services
- To facilitate the production and distribution of committee meeting agenda, reports and minutes including photocopying, printing, scanning and despatch
- To assist in facilitating meetings including those open to the public
