    About the role

    Are you a chartered surveyor looking for a new challenge?

    Our in-house Strategic Property team is instrumental in providing property advice and support to all departments across South Oxfordshire District Council and Vale of White Horse District Council. As we are expanding our team, we are looking to recruit a Chartered Surveyor to join our friendly team, to help support the future growth and direction of this busy service.

    You will be a highly skilled and motivated property professional able to deal with both commercial, community/voluntary organisations and residential in relation to landlord and tenant matters, property acquisitions and general property management.

    You will need experience of handling complex commercial property work, up to date knowledge of property law and be a member of the of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

    Experience of working in a local authority would be an advantage.

    Essential criteria for the role

    • a relevant degree and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
    • a Grade 6 role will also require a minimum of 3 years’ experience post MRICS qualification demonstrating a good awareness of estate management, landlord and tenant work and all property related matters

    • a full driving licence and access to a car insured for business purposes

    Key responsibilities for the role

    • To conduct good estate management of the councils’ tenanted property portfolio

    • To undertake day to day management of both councils’ non-tenanted property holdings

    •  To provide professional expertise, advice and bespoke solutions to colleagues, service teams and others on property management and various other property related matters

    • To assist on strategic property projects on behalf of both councils
    • To deal with ad hoc customer queries
