To support our existing programmes of activity, working with a variety of target groups including older people, women, young people and those suffering with mental health issues, encouraging active lifestyles and combating social isolation and loneliness.
This post will focus on individuals, to improve access to, and participation in, health and well-being activities and opportunities. The post holder will be required to work on their own initiative to support our residents to adopt active lifestyles and reduce inactivity and health inequalities.
Essential criteria for the role
- Minimum 5 GCSEs grades A-C, including English and Maths
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours for project delivery
Key responsibilities for the role
- Contact Move Together clients by phone to carry out initial assessments
- Support officers with three month follow up calls to participants on the Move Together pathway
- Work with the Active Communities Officers to identify and promote activities appropriate for the target audience.
- Promote the benefits of physical activity to local communities, sign posting to clubs, classes and informal activity groups
- Attend and support local workshops and community events
